Medicine for Mali trains volunteers (relais) who give educational talks to their villages on malaria prevention and going to the Health Center when sick. Medicine for Mali has a university trained midwife come to the villages monthly to train village birth attendants (matrones) on Prenatal visits and safe delivery. Malaria prevention tablets for pregnant women and bednets are distributed at these visits. These are proven strategies to fight malaria deaths.
